Another Hot Run & Reflecting

I went to Target yesterday to buy pasta sauce and walked out with $92.00 worth of items. How does that happen? When I lived in Red Bank, Target was a trek, so I didn't get there often. Target is now 15 minutes away; I've made six trips in three weeks. Bye bye money.

The best thing about Target is that you can justify all of your purchases as necessities. A foam roller is a must-have. I haven't yet signed up for a local gym membership and realized I always rolled out my muscles at the gym. Foam rolling prevents injuries, so this is the best 30 bucks I have spent in a long time. I will be foam rolling all night long if you need me.

The scale...not so much. Sometimes I make bad decisions. I now own two of these things. Only a masochist owns two scales.

Last night, I cooked my first family dinner in my new apartment for my brother and cousin.

Carb-loading is totally necessary for the next day's 4 mile run

It's been so great living in the same city as these two...

I was all ready to run this morning and then this happened...

I finally got in my run around 5pm, and it was another scorcher. I really need to start running at dawn. This great Runner's World article states that every 5 degrees rise in temperature above 60 degrees can slow your pace by as much as 20-30 seconds per mile. It was 90 degrees today, so I am not fretting about my time...in fact, I'm quite pleased...

On a solemn note, today is the 12th anniversary of 9/11/01; A day I will never forget. I took time today to reflect and thank God for all the blessings in my life. I hope you did the same
