Running & Dark Chocolate - The Great Stress Relievers

Today was a crazy day. My job is always hectic, but September-December is hectic on speed. It's nice to have an outlet for burning off steam. Everyone has different reasons for exercising, but number one for me is stress control. I don't think I'd be half as competent at my job without sweating for an hour most days of the week. If you're feeling stressed, lethargic, unmotivated; try getting outside and taking a walk or a jog and watch how much better you feel. Okay, PSA over. On to my run today...

I had 5 easy miles on the schedule. I ran around my neighborhood trying to stick with an even pace. I'm not the best at gauging pace times. Sometimes I think I'm super slow and run an 8:30 mile. Other days, I feel speedy and run 9:15. I felt good for the first three miles and decided to slow down a little for the last two as this was supposed to be an "easy" run - average pace 9:21.

I've been on a cereal kick lately. For breakfast, I had Kashi Crunch with almond milk, blueberries and banana and for my 4pm snack, I chowed down on Joe's O's (best name ever), again with almond milk and a few blueberries. I have a habit of eating the same foods over and over until I'm tired of them.




















Dinner was leftover TJ chicken with asparagus, tomatoes and brussel sprouts with avocado on two corn tortillas...





















My "new item of the week" from TJ's were these delicious mini dark chocolate bars. I love dark chocolate, but do not eat enough of the high cacao options (Dove doesn't count, sigh). 70% is my limit. I find anything higher than that too bitter. The perfect (healthy!) dessert after a long day...
