Switching It Up

This morning, I wasn't in the mood for my usual oatmeal breakfast, so I switched it up and went for some good old-fashioned cereal. I forgot how much I LOVE Kashi Go Lean Crunch with unsweetened almond milk. I usually buy the regular almond milk and didn't realize I grabbed the "Vanilla" from TJ's until I got home - what a great mistake! I used to drink A LOT of milk growing up, and now I don't drink any in liquid food (feed me ice cream any day), so I find almond milk a great substitute for some of that Calcium I'm probably missing out on. Maybe one day I'll replace the Splenda in my black coffee with almond milk...one day.





















How ironic that the two days after I write how lucky I am to get in lunch time workouts, I am forced to run after 5pm because of work conflicts. I decided to have "fun" with my run today and not focus on time, as it's still a little too warm for my liking (80 degrees today). I had 5 miles on the agenda, and I told myself as long as I completed the distance, I didn't care how I got there. I did speed work on straight streets, and jogged slowly around the curves to recover - average pace 9:27.


Tomorrow's a rest day, so I'll be doing much more of these two things...Foam rolling and headstands. I held a headstand today without the use of a wall. It's amazing what you can do once you stop listening to your brain and start listening to your body. I am now an inversion junkie...






















I think Stella could give Grumpy Cat a run for his money...
