Confession: I Love The Gym

The Bestie flew home this morning, so it was time to get back to reality. While I've been running a lot lately, I've also been eating lots of goodies and slacking in my strength workouts. Today was the perfect day to get back to the gym. I finally joined the local LA Fitness, and I'm so excited to make this beautiful building my second home...

The last post I wrote on my former blog was all about choosing a gym. I had just moved to my new apartment in NJ and had joined the local health club. The gym I wrote about ended up being a second home, so I knew exactly what I was looking for here in Columbus.  When I was walking up to the gym, I saw people running on what looked like an indoor track - SOLD! Once inside, I toured the cardio area, spin and fitness classrooms, and the pool, you know, in case I want to train for a Triathlon next year, so said the trainer showing me around. I think I will be very happy here.

I hope I don't lose readers by admitting that I really like the gym. I love people watching and feel like I have so many options available to me workout-wise. I also know that the lovely Ohio winter is coming, so I'm happy to have a place to run to (not literally, unfortunately) when the weather is less than desirable.

I'm still in the recovery phase, so today I worked out for 30 minutes on the elliptical (at my new gym) and did ab work. I'm going by feel, but I'm hoping to hit the road tomorrow. We shall see...

What's most important to you in a gym? I need cardio-machine options. I wouldn't sign up until I saw there was a treadmill, elliptical, rower, stair master and spin bike at my disposal.
