Day 1 of Carb-Loading Craziness

Tapering is a fascinating concept. You take it easy to give your all on race day. It's as much a mental game as a physical one. You have to be confident enough in your training to know that you will do the best you can do on the big day even though all the training runs are over. Three miles was on the schedule today, so three is what I did. Twenty-eight minutes and my workout was done. Definitely not something I'm used to, but I know my body is thanking me for this break. I'm rolling out my legs as much as possible - 1 hour last night; 1 hour tonight - trying to keep them fresh for Saturday. Average pace 9:25.

Splits:

Mile 1: 9:12
Mile 2: 9:31
Mile 3: 9:21

After my run, I met my brother at Ohio State and took him out to dinner. He is one lucky college kid, let me tell you. We ate at Eddie George's Grille on High Street. It was such an awesome night to sit outside and eat all of this food...

I needed to pick up a book on hold for me at the Campus Barnes and Noble - The Runner's World Cookbook. I've already flagged so many pages and can't wait to try all the yummy foods. I'll be posting my favorites here, no worries.

Food = Fuel

My Bestie finally arrives tomorrow, and I'm so excited! I can't wait to explore all of Columbus with her this weekend. I almost forget I have a race in between all the reuniting...almost.
