It's All About The Climb...To Hibachi

Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I am so glad it's the weekend. This was the longest work week in the history of the world. Today was a quick workout day - 30 minutes of cardio with 18 minutes of squats/abs. I took advantage of my apartment's gym and ran on the treadmill for 15 minutes (average pace 9:30) and then worked out on the stairmaster for 15 minutes.  When I was living in NJ, I used to go on the stairmaster for 35 minutes without a problem. I then took a two month break, and today, I was struggling to get through half that time. It just goes to show how when you stop a fitness routine, it's that much harder to get back in the swing of things. Best not to stop. Ever. Don't you agree?

After work, I grabbed my brother and we had an awesome Hibachi dinner with my Aunt, Uncle, Cousin and Cousin's boyfriend. It's always fun to have someone cook the food in front of you...and turn onions into a fiery train...

They gave us shrimp as an appetizer and I had the steak with steamed rice for dinner. I passed on the fried rice knowing everyone at the table would share. I'm smart like that. Yum...

The past week has been so hectic (an awesome weekend at Cedar Point followed by a long work week), so I'm really looking forward to a much calmer weekend with lots of running and gym time. I like weekend workouts because I can take my time. Most people enjoy being in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, but I like a longer sweat session every now in then. Just one of the many (MANY) reasons I'm a big weirdo.

Hope you're all having an awesome Friday night!

What's one awesome thing you plan on doing this weekend?
