The End Of Recovery

Recovery week is coming to an end, and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I only worked out three days this week - that is the least amount of days per week I've worked out in months! But my legs were thanking me every non step of the way.

I'm looking forward to getting back in the groove next week. I'm making a schedule of mornings spent running and mornings spent at the gym to ensure I don't burn out. And yes, I'm hoping to get back to morning workouts. Winter has not graced us with her presence yet, but I know I will be spending A LOT of time in the gym once she does, so I'll be happy to get in as many outside workouts as possible. Bring on the cool A.M. runs.

Today's last recovery run was a 30 minute (that turned into a 32 minute because I was farther from home than I thought), 3 mile (3.33 m) run that started a little too fast and ended much more on recovery pace. I was aiming for a 9:30 for all three miles but ended a little slower. Average pace: 9:37.

Splits:

Mile 1: 8:55
Mile 2: 10:05
Mile 3: 9:42

My college roommate is driving in from Chicago today, and then the rest of us (remember, we were the original fab five) are heading to our married, house owning roommate's place (she's a real grown-up) for a sleepover before heading up to Cedar Point tomorrow. I'm the only person in the world who hasn't been to Cedar Point. Even my friends and family from NJ have been there. I'm so excited to ride the roller coasters again and to walk around all day - I'm counting this as my "4th" workout of the week.

I'll be enjoying Cedar Point tomorrow, but expect LOTS of pictures and stories Sunday night. Below are a few past BLENK (stands for our initials - we're so cute) photos to enjoy. And yes, I was a red head for a very long time...

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
