And The Idiot Award Goes To...

Me! It's not news to anyone who's been reading that I've been struggling with my running lately. Today while attempting a track workout, my chest was heavy, my legs hurt and I felt like I wasn't taking in enough air. So I tried a simple experiment. I took off the heart rate monitor that wraps around my chest. And lo and behold, I could breath again. I had been so worried about the monitor slipping off during workouts, I placed it too tight. Why this hasn't occurred to me in the last month and a half…I have no answer.

I won't be so bold to say all of my running pains have been because of this (I definitely overtrained in September), but getting enough oxygen to your muscles is so important. I'm going to try all my runs this week with a much looser monitor to see if I improve…

It was a chilly morning, but I was so happy to be back at the track…

After my run, my friends wanted to meet for brunch. I eat breakfast at 8am like an old person, so 12:15 brunch meant lunch…

Grilled chicken salad
My aunt (after being on vacation for one week) made us all a lovely family dinner. Spaghetti and meatballs for the win…

How do you keep your heart rate monitor in place without it being too tight?? Please tell me!

Did you workout today or enjoy a restful Sunday?
