Grad School Bound & Double The Workout Fun

Today was a very happy day for me. I received my official letter accepting me into Ohio State's graduate school. I will start taking classes in January, and I couldn't be more excited…and nervous…

Today's acceptance letter got me thinking about dreams. We all have them. Some are big and some are small. I believe the answer to a happy life is to keep dreaming. Be ambitious. Take chances. Make mistakes. And keep moving forward...

“Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. My first workout of the day was a 40 minute morning elliptical workout followed by a little ab work. After last night's carb load (for no reason whatsoever), it felt good to sweat it out…

After my workout, I rediscovered my love for almond butter. Crunchy peanut butter is still my number one love, but almond butter is a close second. I put a tablespoon on a rice cake with a small packet of raisins and it was oh so good. The best kind of recovery snack…

Looks gross - tastes great!

I had my personal training session after work. I was rushing to the gym, so I only had time for a quick half mile warm up run. I then went through chest and back exercises. It's so odd to see how off balanced your body can be. I can squat for days, my back is strong, but ask me to do a chest press - it's laughable. I'll get there though, and my trainer is really supportive. He gives me high fives after every successful (and unsuccessful) set. We're buddies. I finished my workout with a 9 minute mile around the gym track…

What are some dreams you're working towards?

Are you an almond butter fan?
