Love Actually Is Everywhere…Or I'm Watching Too Many Christmas Movies

I firmly believe that it only snows when I have personal training scheduled. 6:30 am - fun times...

It took me 30 minutes to drive 5 miles to the gym. Once there, I only had about 20 minutes to warm up on the elliptical. During my session, we worked the back and arms. The pull up machine is no joke. You would think with something supporting your legs it would be easy, but when you add weight, you're essentially pulling yourself up on your own. And it's hard. My trainer still thinks I can lift about 40 pounds more than I actually can, but we're finding a groove.

My favorite part of the session is when we focus on core work, mostly because I feel that is something I'm actually good at. I've done russian twists with a weighted ball tons of times, but today I had to bounce the ball with every twist. The key is to not get comfortable with any exercise. You always needs to take it to the next level and work hard to see results.

I finished my morning with 30 additional minutes on the elliptical. I was so tempted to run, but I'm sticking to my "don't run everyday" rule for the next couple of weeks…

I read the best lunch tip yesterday from my favorite running blogger, Hungry Runner Girl (PS, she's the most awesome person I've never met. Read every post she's ever written, and you will thank me in the morning). While heating up soup, add in spinach to get some extra veggie goodness. I added baby spinach to my Whole Foods chicken noodle soup, and it tasted great! Thanks, HRG!

For the first time in several days, I had absolutely nothing to do tonight, so I decided to catch up on some of my favorite Christmas movies. I started the night with the classic, "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and after watched "Love Actually" - hence the post title.

Does anyone else ever feel so busy during the holidays that they have no time to do all the holiday themed restful things they enjoy? I'm trying my hardest to make time to sit back and enjoy the simple things like my tree, movies, baking cookies, tea and last but certainly not least, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show tonight. That always makes me feel good about myself :)

How many pull ups can you do? I was able to do 24 today!

What's your favorite holiday movie? I honestly can't name one. I love so many for different reasons.

Do you have any special holiday traditions? I'm very excited to bake lots of cookies when I'm with my family in NJ.
