To Rest Or Not To Rest & Winter Chocolates

You'll have to bear with me as I'm writing this post while watching the live musical production of The Sound of Music on NBC, and Audra McDonald just left me lifeless with Climb Every Mountain.

Anywho, since yesterday was my rest day, I did what I do best - Bought lots of chocolate. These dark chocolate/mint morsels taste amazing (yup, I already tried them) and I'm excited to put them in cookies later in the month…if they last that long. I also love trying new guilt free ice cream snacks. I love putting ice cream on wafer cones, so I thought I would cut out the middle man and just buy the ice cream WITH the cones. Oh and if you put the chocolate/mint morsels on the ice cream cone, it's delicious!

Since I have to work out lots to burn off the chocolate I eat by the bag, I bought this awesome shirt with my chocolate. A little extra motivation always helps! This is definitely my new favorite workout shirt. Well done, Target…

The Holiday season officially started last night with the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Home is wherever my heart is and part of my heart will always be in NYC. See you soon in person, you beautiful tree…

I was not feeling my best today and almost skipped my workout, but I thought I would give it 30 minutes and modify based on how I felt. The first 20 minutes or so was okay, but I eventually found my groove and finished strong. 45 minutes on the elliptical, followed by 15 minutes on the StairMaster, then light weights. I'm still learning how to listen to my body when I'm not quite feeling my best. I feel good after my workout and definitely don't regret it, but I have been very tired and achy lately. I think my body may be telling me it's time for a little break.

After my workout, the girls and I had dinner at Aladdin's. I am such a fan of Mediterranean food and had an awesome Hummus rolled pita and side salad. And it was vegan - win/win!

What holiday snacks have you tried?

Did you watch The Sound of Music live?

How do you know when to workout and when to rest when you don't feel your best?
