Back To School & Ice Cream Loading

Happy weekend, everyone. Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature what month it is, and we hit 53 degrees today! On Thursday, I had my first grad class - my first class since 2010! And I loved every single second of it.

First day of school outfit!

Being back on Ohio State's campus was like being home again…

And even though I have one million pages of reading to do and four papers to write (not to mention my full time job), I am so happy I made the decision to go back to school…

Goodbye sleep

The perks of having so much on my plate is that I find more excuses to indulge in all the things that make me happy…margaritas with the friends…

And Friday night trips to Dairy Queen. After reading Remy's Friday List column yesterday, #10 said "ice cream loading" is the new "carbo loading." I had to experiment for my five mile run this morning (side note to avoid intense judgement - the margs and ice cream were enjoyed 24 hours apart :))…

And of course I know running will get me through it all. It was raining this morning, but I was not going to let a little precipitation keep me inside in 50 degree weather, so I went to Trader Joe's while it was still raining hard, and then hit the track…

Miles 1-4 were right on pace and mile 5 was my slower cool down. The key to ensuring my body and brain do not burn out is increasing my milage slowly. In the past, I jumped into training way too late and tried to do too much too soon. This time around, I'm following my training plan as closely as I can, and giving my body the time it needs to adjust to my workouts.

What's the scariest thing you've ever done? Grad School is definitely number 1.

Doing anything fun this weekend? I took down my Christmas tree - about time, I know.
