My Personal Trainer Is Trying To Kill Me

Sunday workout fun day. I love starting my week out with an intense sweat session. To give myself two rest days a week instead of one like my training plan calls for (more on rest days later), I combine my Monday scheduled run with my Sunday scheduled strength session. Two is better than one…is what I keep telling myself. A 3.6 mile recovery run in 32:12 (My track doesn't have an even number of laps, so I ran one extra instead of one less, hence the annoying .6.

Mile 1: 9:06
Mile 2: 9:03
Mile 3: 9:07
Mile .6: 5:02

It's official, my trainer is trying to kill me. After my run, Justin wanted to "get my heart pumping" (what exactly was I doing during my run?!) and had me do box jumps, push ups, russian twists, repeat times one million; followed by lots of squats; lots of kettle ball lifts; lots of me saying "how many more?!" But tomorrow is a rest day, so it was all worth it.

In honor of my workout today, I ate the largest baked potato at Sunday dinner tonight (seriously, where do they grow these things?). My aunt made a rocking soy sauce pork to fuel me for the night of award speeches...

For those of you who do not know me (and you must really not know me), I'm obsessed with awards season. And tonight we start with the booziest show of them all, the Golden Globes. In honor of the Golden Globes, I watched the Woody Allen movie "Manhattan" last night, and a young Meryl Street stars as Allen's ex wife...

Hope you all enjoy your night!

How did you get your heart pumping today?

Are you watching the Golden Globes?
