Aerial Yoga & Lent

On Monday night, this happened…

I've wanted to try Aerial yoga for a while now, and when a Living Social deal landed in my inbox for five classes at Yoga on High, the girls and I had to give it a try. I found some of the pulling yourself up poses the hardest, but it was such a great way to practice inversions. I even did a handstand for the first time ever…with support, of course. Next time, you'll get the hanging upside down pose...

I've been in a weird place with running lately. I honestly think (hope) it's the weather. I have zero desire to run inside, and I've also been training for my half since just after the Christmas holiday, so it's taking a lot to stay motivated these last (now less than) two weeks. I just keep envisioning that start and finish line in DC and am doing what I can to show up on race day as prepared as possible. 

In hopes that I'll get a long(ish) run in today, yesterday's workout was 30 minutes on the StairMaster; 15 minutes on Elliptical; weights/abs…

I won't bore you with my FitBit results everyday, but I had to show you how eye opening this little device is. On Monday between work and a yoga session as my workout, I didn't make it close to HALF my daily goal. Seriously. It showed me how much more moving I need to do throughout the day - again, when the weather is nicer I can take lunch time walks, etc - but wow. 10,000 steps a day is hard. 

Last night, I updated my 'do.' I haven't had my hair done since Christmas, so it was a nice 3 hours spent at the salon. Nurtur in Columbus is great - I can't recommend them enough. 

Lent is here! My birthday is on Easter this year, so it's very easy to remember - 40 days! I've been racking my brain trying to think of something to give up. I still haven't fully decided, but I think I'm going to be a little more spiritual this year and attempt to give up negativity while adding positive things to my life - i.e. meditation, journaling, etc. And maybe I'll also give up ice cream/fro yo. Maybe.
