Rock 'N' Roll USA Expo and Exploring DC

I'm back! This weekend was so great that I have to break my trip into two posts. Race recap to come! I left for DC early Friday morning and arrived at the Expo at 4pm. I've been to one other expo before, but I wasn't nearly as interested in running to enjoy the booths. This time around I was like a kid in a candy store…

There were lines but they moved quickly.

The expo was sponsored by my favorite Running company...

I only spent $100. I consider that an accomplishment...

New clothes for spring!

After about an hour, I left the Expo to go check into my hotel, see a little of DC in daylight and wait for my parents to arrive…

My parents arrived and we had a great pre-race dinner at The Old Ebbitt Grill. My cousin lives in the area and joined us. He's training for his first half marathon Memorial Day weekend!

Post-race, we did more sightseeing in DC. Everyone should wear a fitbit when racing. My device vibrated around mile 4 (8 am) of my race signifying I had hit my goal for the day. These were my stats for Saturday. I'm just a little annoyed that I didn't hit the full 20 miles...

I spent my last night in DC having dinner with my dad at the Capital Grille. Another unashamed selfie since I was impressed at how well I cleaned up. You can barely tell I was in "forced to limp" pain.

Until next time, DC…

Have you ever been to Washington DC?

Best post race meal? This steak dinner is definitely at the top of the list
