Short Workouts & Sunshine

Taper week = short workouts. And I'm kinda liking it. After weeks and weeks of hour + workouts 4-5 days a week, 30 minute runs feel like a warm up…and then I'm not sure what to do with the rest of my day. Work, I guess?

Monday was our first day of 60+ temperatures and it was glorious. I ran a slow 5k to start my taper week. 3.1 miles in 30 minutes. Fun fact, my TimeHop app showed me that two years ago, I ran my fastest 5K in 24:47. I definitely want to focus on speed again once my Half is over. My summer goal is to see 8 minute miles again...

Yesterday was another beautiful day, and although I wanted to run, I saved my last quick run for today (in the rain, snow and sleet…UGH) and stuck with the StairMaster for 30 minutes followed by a stroll outside…

Since I can't go more than 10 days without hanging out with my awesome family, we had a great chicken, rice and veggie dinner last night. I love carb loading...

How did you enjoy the warmer temperatures?

What sort of runs do you do during a taper week? My training plan has me running 2 miles today, but I will probably run for 30 minutes.
