Sweating and Sweets Make Me Happy (Hence the Blog)

I love that I'm back to working out a whole lot with no training plan to follow. I do what I want for however long I want, and it's been a nice change of pace. I'm giving my running legs the longest break in history and am not running until Friday or Saturday. Running in pain is something I've been doing for too long, so I'm focusing on lower impact cardio until my legs are ready.

On Monday, I spent 50 minutes on the Elliptical. I've said it before, but if you think the Elliptical is not an effective workout, you're doing it wrong…

On Tuesday, I went back to the StairMaster. Weird fact of the day: I really like sweating, and even though I know it's not true, if I don't sweat during a workout, I feel like I didn't work hard enough. Science has proven me wrong time and time again, but that's how I feel. In the winter, the only way I really sweat is on the StairMaster or running indoors. Since I'm on a running break, I try to use the Stairs as often as my legs will allow.

31 minutes StairMaster
13 minutes Elliptical

I've been trying to eat a little better lately and had a realization that I eat some form of processed sugar (chocolate, fro yo, ice cream, candy) every single night. So I made a little challenge to myself that I could make it through the work week without processed sugar (Sunday-Thursday). You read that correctly - work week. Weekends are mine for indulging. So far, so good! I just have to make it through tomorrow night, and then maybe I can continue this week after week…Maybe.

In order to satisfy my sweet tooth, I've been allowing myself a small cup of fresh fruit in place of chocolate. It has worked magnificently - I highly recommend trying it out if you're like me and have a sweet tooth the size of Mt. Everest…

Not chocolate…but still good.

TMI Question: Do you sweat a lot when working out?

Do you have a sweet tooth or salt tooth? Both?
