Sweating & Juicing Make You Feel Better - Who Knew?!

So remember when I said gluttony was okay? Well, it's okay as long as it doesn't make you feel like crap. Apparently my body doesn't take well to eating a full goat (or sheep or cow - what is Feta anyway?) worth of cheese. Turns out you do feel better when you eat better. I'll be sticking to veggies for a while.

In hopes of feeling a little better on Sunday, I did an hour of cardio before Pure Barre. I went for 40 minutes (!) on the StairMaster. This has never happened before. The most I ever did was 35, but I decided to push it - thank you Melt dinner - and I was so thrilled that I made it. The goal is to get to one full hour, but that will take some time…or will never happen. But it's good to have goals. I finished cardio with 20 minutes on the Elliptical...

Pure Barre was awesome. My instructor (Shawn in Dublin - she's fabulous) said after my first class, "it never gets easier, you just get better." I don't feel like I'm better yet, but it helped to have one class under my belt. I felt I was able to stick with the workout for a few seconds longer because I knew there was an end in sight. I really love this workout. Long, lean, toned muscles here I come.

After Pure Barre, we ran over to Whole Foods as I was on a mission to find some freshly squeezed vegetable juice. Did I mention I felt awful from dinner the night before? This was my first time trying juice. I eat a lot of veggies, so I don't necessary feel like I need to drink them as well, but I figured Sunday was as good a day as any to give it a try. I'll be honest - anyone who says they can't taste the veggies is lying. There is no mistaking that this is a healthy drink. But if you don't mind tasting the celery and lemon and other good for you things (my drink also included Kale, broccoli and apples - I didn't taste those), then you'll be able to enjoy this refreshing snack. 

On Monday, I woke up bright and early for Personal Training. I'm going to be in NYC this coming weekend, so I'm packing my workouts into the beginning of the week in case I do not get much time to sweat this weekend. My legs are finally beginning to feel normal again, but I don't want to scare them so I spent 20 minutes on the Elliptical before PT and 20 minutes elliptical-ing after. 

I don't always post what I'm eating (because no one cares), but I really enjoyed my colorful plate for dinner last night. Tilapia, sweet potato, and a mix of tomatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts and asparagus (see, I eat lots of veggies)…
