The Weekend Recap - Little Sleep & Lots Of Food

I'm back from the shortest, longest weekend in history! I sadly had to return to NJ this past weekend for the funeral of my beloved great-aunt. Although I brought my sneakers, running did not happen. There was just too much happening and too little sleep. My legs needed a break anyway.

On Friday, I woke up hours before the sun…seriously…to catch my flight. I'm the person who needs at least 6 hours of sleep to function, so I knew I was in trouble...

I arrived at the airport an hour before my flight (5:30am) and saw this. I really thought I was the only person crazy enough to fly before roosters wake up…

I then was delayed in Chicago for three hours because of weather, so I bought some plain oatmeal and added my own blueberries and banana that I packed that morning. Travel smart = pack healthy food!

Obviously, this wasn't a fun visit so there were only two highlights to the weekend…

1. Awesome Food...

Sushi/Steak dinner with Mom

Saturday morning brunch

Saturday night BBQ

Saturday night ice cream at my favorite spot

2. Awesome People…

The Bestie

Dad

I left bright and early Sunday. I bought mom this book for Mother's Day (at her request!) and started reading it when I was home, so I decided to purchase it at the airport. You can never spend too much time figuring out how to better yourself...

Obligatory cloud shot…

And no matter how tired I am, I just cannot miss Sunday family dinner. Another excellent BBQ meal. Hello, summer!

What did you do this weekend?

Favorite grilled food?

Are you an early morning traveler?
