Do Something New & Challenging

If I could run everyday, I would. But my body won't allow it, so I try to find challenging workouts that will help me become a better runner. It's no secret that I love my Barre classes. It's a great, low impact workout that focuses on strengthening the hips, glutes and abs - all things strong runners need.

Yesterday I hopped on the elliptical for 30 minutes before heading to a PureBarre class. I haven't done PureBarre in a while (I've been loving Barre3), and either it was more challenging than I remember or I have forgotten everything from just a couple of months ago. It was so hard, and the instructor kept coming over and fixing my form. But I did it, and I have three more classes left from my package to get it right. Do something challenging and different this week - you'll be happy you did!

3.2 miles/30 minutes on the treadmill this morning followed by training. Burpees, lat pulldowns, ski jumps repeat for 5 rounds; bosu pushups, ab work and a few other things, but I think I blacked out. I am so ready for rest day tomorrow...

Success

Post workout breakfast was an egg-in-a-hole (or what turned into half a scrambled egg sandwich) and oatmeal with green tea…

I decided to channel my inner Drew Barrymore and snapped a pic of this heart-shaped leaf while on a walk. Find it in everything...

Dinner was another color of the rainbow creation. Baked chicken, sweet potato with cinnamon and veggies...

And in honor of Father's Day weekend, a throwback Thursday pic of me and my dad. He's the best!

Stay lovely, Columbus
What was the last challenging workout you did?

What's the coolest thing you have found on a walk?
