I Ran On National Running Day & Motivational TV

I did it - one mile on National Running Day. I just couldn't resist. I am finally getting back to a normal running schedule, but my legs are not ready for two (or three) days in a row. Since I ran Tuesday and plan on running today, yesterday was not a running day, but one itty bitty mile never hurt anyone (not a fact)…

I then hopped on the elliptical to sweat it out with as little impact as possible. My hamstrings were on fire. It must have been all those kettlebell squats and lunges on Tuesday. So happy I have another training session this morning. Get comfortable feeling uncomfortable, right?

I tried to get in as much walking afterwards as possible before the rains came. Do what you can…

If you're looking for some motivation, Extreme Weight Loss has started its new season. Chris and Heidi Powell are kinda my favorite couple. After Bey and Jay, of course. This show forces you to do squats during the commercial breaks…or at least eat fruit while watching…

And this is how you watch Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals (Go Rangers!) when you're trying to flesh out your legs for your early morning workout the next day. Not weird at all…

I have talked about the benefits of foam rolling for working out those tight muscles in previous posts. One of my favorite running bloggers - Hungry Runner Girl - posted a great "how to foam roll" video the other day. It's really helpful for those new to rolling. Take hours out of your day like I did last year and read all her posts over the past 5 years. She's awesome.

Did you run on National Running Day?

Do you watch Extreme Weight Loss? Thoughts? It's more realistic to me than The Biggest Loser. One year to lose weight is healthy and manageable.
