Refrigerate After Opening…Or Don't & Sticking To Goals

Yesterday was an unplanned rest day. My quads were still on fire from Wednesday's training session, so even though I really wanted to get my run in and rest Friday, I knew better. Walk days > Injuries.

E bought me this rocking Asics tank for my birthday, and I love how lightweight it is. I wore it on my walk and plan to wear it again for my workout today. Gotta love the beauty of re-wearing workout clothes :)

On my walk, I saw this guy in my apartment complex walking around with a weighted vest on and reading a book. Brilliant! I think we need to become friends. To keep my creeper status to a minimum, I didn't snap a pic, but I'm sure you can visualize it.

Post walk snack was a rice cake, 1/4 banana and 1 tbsp of almond butter. Gross story of the day - I realized (after eating my snack) that my almond butter jar said, "refrigerate after opening." Something about it being organic and bacteria can grow blah blah blah. It's been in my pantry for a couple of months. Oops…and ew. Guess I'm adding almond butter to my TJ grocery list this weekend…


I work from home, but keep my work routine very regimented. I get dressed every day (no working in PJ's) and never turn on the TV. Except yesterday between 12 and 2. Go team USA…


After work, I met the girls for dinner. I tested out scrunching my new, shorter hair. This will be a go-to summer style. It takes all of five minutes to do post shower with a little mousse and scrunch hairspray...


We ate at the Grass Skirt Tiki Room downtown. The restaurant is gluten free and vegan friendly with so many yummy looking options. We sat on the patio next to this fancy lady…


I ordered the edamame as an appetizer and the Green Goodness Salad with grilled shrimp. I also tried one of my friend's sweet potato wedges and those were awesome as well. I didn't order a drink (I actually stuck to my no alcohol/processed sweets goal this week - go me!), but my friends did, and they all looked delicious!
