Fancy Commutes & My First Soul Cycle Experience

Hello from NYC. After a few days of working from my parent's house in NJ, I made the trek into NYC on Thursday and Friday. This was the time I had to leave their house on Thursday to ensure I made it to work by 8:30. My dad does this every. single. day. And my mom and I used to! Crazy.

6:30 am is early

But I was pretty stoked to have Starbucks back in my life. We have a ton of Starbucks in Columbus, but I never venture to them. Starbucks is in the lobby of my building, so this is me reverting to bad, old habits...

I brought TJ salads to work both days, because they are much cheaper than buying the $13 salads from Au Bon Pain...

It really is crazy that I work from home on most days, and then come back to this. Talk about two different worlds...

On Friday, my dad told me to take the ferry with him instead of the train. The ferry from NJ is super pricy, so if I ever commuted again full time, this would be a friday treat, but what a treat it is!

I was feeling random on Friday, so I did something I've been wanting to try for forever…Soul Cycle! This is a celeb-approved workout right now, and I needed to give it a shot. I am not great at trying new things, because I get really intimidated, but I'm so happy I did, and lo and behold, LOVED it!

I've taken tons of spin classes before, but I have never done this. We did push ups, ab work, and lifted weights…while spinning! I love that the rooms are dark and you definitely get your money's worth. The studio on the Upper West Side gives complimentary Smart water and shoes. A first time class is only $20, and after that, one class is $34, but they have lots of different price packages.

And I now know why Kelly Ripa is a size 000. I literally looked (and felt) like I had jumped in a pool. Well played, Soul Cycle.

After a looooong shower, the Bestie and I went out for dinner. Obligatory reunion cab selfie...

View from our dinner table. Stay pretty, NY.

Cosmos after a spin class? Sounds like a good idea to me...

I ordered Salmon, brown rice and veggies. It was awesome.

I started getting artsy with my gin and sodas...

And we finished the night with…

What time do you leave your house for work in the am?

Have you ever done Soul Cycle?
