A Run After An 8 Hour Road Trip Is Always A Good Idea

Twas the night before Europe, and Kate overpacked…work in progress.

I left Stella girl in mom's somewhat capable hands this morning and drove the 8 hours by myself to New Jersey. The drive itself was a breeze - I only stopped once and there was no traffic - but anyone who sits in the same position for 8 hours is going to start feeling tired before it's over. My body was sore, but I landed safe and sound before 5pm.

And this was the first creature to greet me when I pulled into the driveway. Mind you, my parents live in a straight up Suburb, so why this little guy wasn't running for a bush is beyond me. Maybe dad feeds him every morning?

I shall call you Hopper...

After stretching out my legs, I decided to go for a run along the beach. I'm trying to get in some milage before my trip just in case I don't get too many runs in overseas. The run itself was fine. I was actually surprised at how "ok" my legs felt after the drive. Oh and I saw Brian Williams standing in front of his beach house when I ran by. It's good to be home…

I know I talk about Ohio sunsets a lot, but this was pretty great. I hear beach sunsets are kind of a big deal in California. I need to visit there soon...

Dad was running a little late, so I picked us up two dinners at my favorite restaurant, 709. I'm saying goodbye to America with a Sushi dinner...

We also bought this beautiful French Champagne a few months back to toast my trip. It was worth every penny…

Last time you saw the ocean? Jersey readers need not answer :)

Tell me about your workout today.
