A Surprisingly Awesome Run & Movie Night

Happy Sunday, friends! Sunday is definitely my favorite day of the week. I'll take any excuse to be lazy and catch up on my DVR.

I mentioned on Friday that I split up my long run milage between Friday and Saturday to avoid a treadmill run. I went to the trails on Saturday morning and decided to run as long as my body wanted to run. I saw the storms in the distance and turned around at mile 2.5 for a total of 5 miles. My goal was 3.

Avg Pace

I have no idea where this ran came from. I figured I'd be struggling through 4 miles, never mind running a solid 5 miles with limited discomfort. The humidity was the worst part of the run. My legs felt strong, and I felt like I could have kept going had the thunder not started rumbling .35 seconds after my run was finished…

Week total: 5 runs; 22 total miles - building up that milage slowly is key to avoiding injuries, and I'm so happy to be in the 20's again. It's been a looooong time.

Midwest storms still freak me out (tornadoes, anyone?), so I sprinted to my car and stretched at home...

The rest of my Saturday afternoon was uneventful because of the rain, so I cleaned and ate food. Still on my Quest Bar kick...

Later in the day, I gave my runner's feet a little love

And then I met my friend for dinner at Aladdin's. Why is Mediterranean food so good?!

And then a few of us went and saw Boyhood. The concept was cool - the same actors are used over a 12 or so year period - but nothing really happened, and the movie was a tad long…

Do you run in the rain?

Last movie you saw?
