Packing For The Big Trip & Indoor/Outdoor Runs

I'm driving to NJ tomorrow to leave for Europe. The "I'm not packed!" situation is beginning to get a little stressful.

I have my shoes lined up next to my suitcase. Priorities...

And all my clothes on the couch, so I'm basically there…

I haven't been sleeping well this week - I'm sure it's just vacation jitters - but yesterday's planned workout just didn't happen. I didn't get out in the morning (mistake), and by the time I was dressed and ready to go last night, the temperature was 91 degrees. I know I could have hopped on a treadmill, but I was just not feeling it. I ran some errands, ate dinner and then went on a long walk instead. It's not the same thing, but the walk made me feel somewhat productive. One workout does not make or break your life. And when you walk, you get to look at sunsets…

I continued my juice kick yesterday. I really like TJ's juices, and they are cheaper than the Blueprint juices you can find in the grocery store or online (by only a few bucks, but it's something). Remember, I don't replace meals with a 100 calorie juice. This was a late morning snack, as I've been slacking in the veggie department lately.

Remember how I love to pack tons of food for healthy traveling options? Well…

Okay, this isn't all for Europe. I'm spending a day in NJ before and after my trip, so some of this is for my time there, but I think it's good to have a few oatmeal packets and protein bars on hand for when we're in the hotels, walking around, on the planes or training over to Paris. I get hungry at really random times. And chocolate is always a good idea…

This morning I made sure to wake up bright and early to get in my workout before the packing/last day of work madness began. Guess who snoozed twice before this...

I had personal training again, and because I snoozed, I went to my session first. We did lots of sumo style squats and tricep work today. I'm still sore from Monday, so tomorrow should be great. I then ran 2.15 miles on the treadmill in 20 minutes. I wanted to get in a little outdoor running so I ran for 30 minutes around my neighborhood afterwards for 5 miles total…

Mom got her fitness on today too. After walking for a while, she came back and lifted my 5 lb. weights while working. Multi-tasking at its finest…

Dinner tonight was a healthy chicken/quinoa stir fry…

And now I have to get back to packing!

Name three items you can't travel without. My iPad, running shoes, straightener

How was your workout today?
