10 miles in really hot weather. Fun times. I ran really well for 7 miles, and then my hips started acting up. I'm probably going to stay put at 8 miles for the next few weeks until I strengthen up my hips. Running any distance over 6 ish miles does not feel natural to me, so my goal for the next month or so is to establish that 8 mile base. This for me means I could go out and run 8 miles on a Tuesday and not think of it as a long run.
Splits: 10:12, 9:53, 9:55, 10:14, 10:12, 10:16, 10:16, 10:01, 10:02, 10:09
And in case you're wondering how hot it actually was, this shirt is not normally see-through…
My current favorite post-long run recovery drink…
And the mandatory ice bath…
The rest of the day was spent relaxing, and then mom and I did the classic dinner and a movie thing. We ate at Olive Tree because I love it there and wanted to share the love with my mom. She approved!
We saw the Hundred-Foot Journey. Thank goodness we ate beforehand, because this movie will make you hungry! It will also make you want to go to France. Good thing I'm heading that way in 5 DAYS!!!
How far did you run this weekend?
Favorite recovery drink?
Have you ever been to France?
