Walking Is Cross Training & Race Updates

I didn't have the best start to my Sunday and thought that a solid cross training workout would make me feel better, but the universe had other plans…

I had no desire to go to the real gym, so an hour of walking had to suffice. I understand the importance of cross training, but they tell me walking is cross training, so I'm counting it…

A few race updates. I decided to not run the Emerald Half at the end of the month. I'm enjoying increasing my milage a little at a time, and I think I would be pushing my body too much to try to race (and PR) 13.1 miles in less than 4 weeks. Instead, my trainer and I joked that if I'm feeling up to it, I'll just go out and run 13 miles on the 24th for fun. It's interesting what activities runners think of as "fun."

I did sign up for two fall races - one fun race and one goal race. The Ohio State 4 miler on September 21st ends by the participants running through Ohio Stadium. My friends will be running this race with me, so I'm sure we'll have a blast. My big fall race is the Columbus Half Marathon on October 19th. I watched my college roommate run this last year and decided then that I would run it this year. I 100% plan to PR this race, so no pressure :)

Back to Sunday Fun day. There was no family dinner this week, but since my cousin and I can't go 7 days without seeing each other, he and I went out for food on our own. Spagio in Grandview has amazing food, and on Sunday they had wine specials as well. You don't have to tell us twice…

I ordered the Nicoise - ahi Tuna with yummy greens and other fun things...

After dinner, I went and grabbed a little fro yo goodness. I haven't had any frozen yogurt in a while, so it was definitely time for a treat…

Doesn't look pretty, but it sure tasted good

I spent the rest of my Sunday night trying to master my forearm stand. I'm getting closer thanks to Youtube

And the best part of Sunday…football is back! I know it's only preseason, but hooray!

Can you do a forearm yoga stand?

Do you have a favorite salad? Anything with fish on top
