Hills Are Our Friends & Running Fortunes

Thanks to my internet modem crapping out, I'm currently blogging from a coffee shop. AKA: the biggest cliche ever. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do...

Yesterday was a rest day, so I did what I do best on rest days - ate a lot of not so good for you food. I find it funny how I'm most healthy on days I work out. I made a valiant effort early in the day with my morning red juice from TJ's…

Then my cousin and I decided to order Chinese and it all went downhill from there. Chinese is definitely my favorite, and my stomach turns into a never ending crater when I eat it. I make a small attempt at healthifying my meal by ordering steamed chicken and broccoli with the sauce on the side. But I will never (ever ever) turn down an egg roll…

Feast

I have zero regrets...

I woke up early this morning and went for a 6 mile run at the reservoir. I was going to run the trails, but I was reading Runner's World online and saw Kristin Armstrong's column titled, "Hunting For Hills." It reminded me that I haven't really ran hills in a couple of weeks, so I decided to run the hillier reservoir over the flat trails.

I don't ever usually go looking for hills, but after my oh so filling meal last night and the realization that my Half is less than 5 weeks away, I wanted to challenge my body. Hills make us stronger and fitter. I will repeat this over and over to myself next week when my love for hills is a distant memory.

Splits: 9:28, 9:34, 9:37, 9:15, 9:24, 9:32

And a little fortune from me to you…

What's your favorite "cheat" food?

Do you like running hills?
