Rest, Run, Repeat

Hi, friends! I've learned over the past couple of years that the body needs what the body needs. And it will definitely let you know what exactly that is.

I had personal training (first session since Europe) yesterday morning and a 4 mile run on the calendar. The training session happened…the run, not so much. I've been sleeping past my alarm all week - I'm fairly certain my body just needs extra shut-eye, because I feel great otherwise - and so I was at PT right on time with no time beforehand to run. I worked after my session and when 6pm rolled around, a bath sounded 100 million times better than a run. So that's what I did. No worries, no regrets. Give your body the rest it needs…

That's all she wrote for Wednesday...

On Wednesday, I cooked my favorite "colors of the rainbow" dinner. Shrimp, sweet potato, veggies…

Thursday was a new day, and my energy was restored. 4 miles followed by weights = great sweat session. My legs weren't feeling their best during Tuesday's run, so I decided to break in my new Ghost 7's. They felt amazing. It was definitely time for new shoes…

Splits: 9:02, 8:55, 9:02, 9:16

I went to TJ's to buy some last minute goodies before the Bestie's arrival tomorrow - I cannot wait to see her! - and Fall has definitely arrived, even if it is 77 degrees outside…

I bought a few Fall favors for my patio…

Dinner was a TJ salad (no dressing) with some cooked shrimp on top and grapes for a little added sweetness. Delicious!

Have a great start to your weekend!

What's one way you relaxed this week?

Tell me about your sweat sessions this week - Good, bad, okay?
