Training Cycle Thoughts & Favorite Fall TV Shows

I dropped M off at the airport early this morning and then went to the reservoir. It may have been 80 degrees outside at 1pm, but Fall has definitely arrived…

5 morning miles - Splits: 9:33, 8:55, 8:58, 9:05, 9:08

I saw this picture on my Timehop app this morning, and I started to reflect on my current training cycle for my upcoming race…

My race is really soon (20 days!), and I've now been training for 10 or so weeks. I didn't follow an exact training plan for this race, and instead tried my best to run off of feel. I took breaks when I needed - 2 rest days per week most weeks - and I foam rolled/stretched a ton. Time will only tell if I'm prepared, but I feel ready for race day. I think a little part of me is ready for the race to be over too. I still love running more than anything on most days, but it will be nice to not have to run. If I want to take a spin class instead of running 5 miles, I can just do so without having to worry about it impacting my race. I'm looking forward to a little break before Marathon (ahhhh!) training starts in December.

After a weekend of yummy food, this post-run oatmeal was perfect…

In unrelated to running, just me being lazy news, I love Fall TV and am so happy Modern Family is back…

How's your training cycle going so far?

What's your favorite Fall TV show(s)? Modern Family and The Mindy Project!
