Holidays & Cold Weather Arrive Early Around Here

It's the weekend! Well, for me anyway. And almost for everyone else. I drove back from NJ yesterday and I'm off to Chicago tomorrow for a girl's weekend. Traveling > everything else.

Just to recap, I went on a nice run on my last day in NJ. I ran 5 miles Tuesday morning, and on the way back, the bridge gates were stuck. After 10 minutes, the nice bridge worker let me rebelliously spiderman crawl underneath the gates to get home. I'll count that as cross training…

Splits: 9:12, 9:23, 9:31, 9:24, 9:41

On my drive back to Columbus, I saw this sign for possibly the last time for a while. Let's have a great last month together, Ohio…

I came back just in time for pre-winter in Columbus. Temps in the 40's mean I have to run in long sleeves again (boo). My legs still refuse to wear anything other than shorts. I'm hoping to keep this up until we hit freezing.

Underarmour weather

I ran a fast (for me) 4 miles Thursday morning. My heart rate was around 170 (88% of my max), so I was definitely pushing it, but I managed a sub 9 minute/mile run. Yay.

Splits: 9:02, 8:42, 8:45, 8:56

I went to Target after work and saw all the Christmas stuff out. I'm not really hating it. I was *this close* to buying the claymation holiday dvd set…

I did make an impulse Jillian Michaels purchase. I have a feeling after this girl's weekend, I'll need a little tough love. I'll let you know if I'm ripped in 30 :)

I dropped by my aunt and uncle's for a quick visit and discovered it was Halloween in their town. The kids trick-or-treat early. I've never heard of that! I sat with them for an hour and helped pass out candy to the neighborhood kiddos…

I'm not bringing my computer to Chicago, so have a great weekend and I'll catch up with you all Monday. I may try this whole blog from your phone thing, so we'll see how that works out.

Oh and don't forget the NYC Marathon is on Sunday! Deena Kastor and Kara Goucher are racing, and I can't wait to see what they are able to accomplish.

Do you pay attention to your heart rate when you workout?

What's your favorite workout dvd?

When do kids trick-or-treat in your next of the woods?
