Running With A Pace Group & Eating All The Carbs In Sight

Happy weekend! Turns out I hate tapering. Yep. I enjoyed it for one day. Maybe 12 hours. I'm a-ok with the eating part (bring on the carbs!), but the not doing anything except a little walk here and here is driving me nutso. But I know (I know I know) it will all be worth it come race day. I eventually got over myself and ate my carbs like a good little runner all day long. 

Breakfast - Kashi cereal with almond milk, blueberries and banana


Lunch - tuna on ezekiel break with an apple and cucumber


Afternoon snack - Oatmeal with blueberries…


Dinner - sushi


I checked the weather forecast for Sunday, and it's looking like a perfect day for racing! 


I've made it no secret that I hope to break 2 hours on Sunday (a more elaborate race goal post to come), and I read this article the other day in Runner's World's August issue. Talk about good timing! I never thought about running with a pace group, but after reading this article, I'm seriously thinking about stalking the 2:00 hour pace leader the entire run. It will be a game time decision, but it sounds like a pretty great idea right now. Let me know your thoughts!
