Goals For 2015 - Happy New Year!

I'm not a huge fan of the term resolution, so I plan yearly goals. I don't know why one single day of the year makes me feel like a new person, but I guess that's better than an alternative. We should be trying to be our best selves every morning when we wake up to a new day, but for those of you out there like me who need a new year to make some changes, it's here!

2014 was a wonderful year. I ran some great races - more than I realized until I took a look at the medals I collected this year while packing up for my move...

I had a great time living in Columbus, and I was also very happy to return to NJ. I'm about to embark on training for my first marathon, and my legs feel strong and healthy. And last but not least, the Bestie got engaged!

And now 2015 is the year A LOT of things will be happening. I don't know if I've ever been so excited for a new year. I think I really just want to run that Marathon. And now that the holidays are over, I'm ready for Spring. So here are some new/some old goals for 2015...

Goals for 2015

*Run my first marathon. Duh. This is the big one. I've been planning on running a marathon for 2 years now, and this is the first year I honestly feel like I can do it. Let's hope the running Gods agree.

*Get a fitness certificationI spend a ton of time at the gym, so I might as well try to branch out from the whole "I only like running" thing and maybe I can make some extra dollars along the way. I'm leaning towards Spin because I like it a lot and cross training is good for the legs.

*Volunteer more. This has nothing to do with running (unless I volunteer for a race), but I definitely want to volunteer more. It makes my heart happy and it's good for the soul to not be self absorbed for at least one hour a day.

*Blog More. I love what this silly little blog has become, and I have lots of ideas to make it even better in 2015. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my random musings. And as always, leave me comments on things you like/dislike or just say hello!

*Do More Yoga. This is a yearly goal. No matter how much yoga I do, I can always do more. I always feel better afterwards, and I need to stretch more in 2015 to stay healthy.

*Complete a Triathlon. Not to get too far ahead of myself, but we're talking about the entire year here. I have always wanted to complete a triathlon. I live by the ocean, and I'm a decent swimmer, I like to bike, so why not? This is a summer/early fall goal.

*Travel Travel Travel. Keep doing this :)

Happy New Year, Everyone! I hope 2015 brings you everything you hope for.

What are some of your goals for 2015?
