Less Than One Week & Marathon Training Is Here!

I can't believe that Marathon training is actually here! In 16 short weeks, I will have ran 26.2 miles. And I'm freaking out just a little. My main goal is to arrive at the start line in late April healthy, happy and ready to run, so if I can accomplish that, training was a success.

I'll be using this training guide for the next 16 weeks. I'm going to try hard to stick to this plan. I feel really good about the next six weeks or so. Once we get into March and I see things like 9 miles on Wednesday and 18 miles on Saturday, I start to get a tad stressed so I'm just not going to look that far in advance. Live in the mile, right? :)

Let's recap some fun happenings on Saturday. I took a rest day and went with the Bestie to her final dress fitting. We were able to take the dress home on Saturday night, and it's now resting comfortably at my Parent's house. Less than one week!

Since we had to return to the dress shop two more times throughout the day, we made a few pit spots in between fittings. Pit stop #1 was the Mall followed by Olive Garden. I haven't eaten at OG in forever, and since it was raining outside, soup, salad and breadsticks hit the spot...

After the second fitting of the day, we went to Sundaes for some afternoon dessert. I'm really glad we're taking this whole wedding diet thing seriously...

After the dress success, we went to the venue to make sure everything was in order. Here's a sneak peek at the reception ballroom!

After our whirlwind day, I went to dinner with my dad. We split a seafood appetizer and then each enjoyed different versions of locally caught Tilefish. I've never eaten this type of fish before, and it was delicious!

On Sunday morning, I started Marathon training with a 5 mile run. I avoided the wooded trails since they were very wet and muddy - I didn't feel like sliding into the reservoir - and ran the paved trail around the park once + .8 miles instead. Oh, and I was wearing shorts. I'm going to be really sad when it's 19 degrees on Thursday...

I spent most of Sunday cleaning my apartment while breaking in my shoes for the wedding. I have to make sure these babies can keep dancing all night long...

I have to go back into the office tomorrow (why couldn't the holiday break last until June), so I'm doing all my meal prep tonight. Hardboiled eggs + oatmeal = training fuel...

Are you training for a Spring race? Which one?

Do you have any big events coming up?
