National Champs, A Couple of Workouts & Healthier Food Choices

The Ohio State Buckeyes are College Football's National Champions, so I have to say the past 4 days will go down as the greatest 4 days of my 25 years. I have an exciting life.

Anywhoo, I got back to the sweating and eating slightly healthier than my sub sandwiches with a side of chocolate and beer weekend. On Monday night, I hopped on the StairMaster for 35 minutes. So far, 35 minutes is my max time on the Stairs. My goal is to hit 40 minutes one of these days...

I take great motion pictures

After the Stairs, I went to my normal Monday yoga class. The New Year resolutioners have packed the gym and there were so many people in the class last night. I'm always supportive of people working to get healthy, buuuut I'll be a little happier when some of them stop coming in approximately 3-4 weeks.

I'm really going to try to eat a little healthier for the foreseeable future. I've been eating a ton of junk lately, and I know I'll perform better if I stick to whole foods. I'm also going to try and cut back on sugar. A little dark chocolate is good for you, but I really love chocolate, so it will be best if I stick to veggies instead. Monday's afternoon snack was perfect...

I then had chicken, brown rice and more veggies for dinner...

I went for a 3 mile run early Tuesday morning. The Ohio State game was on super late, so it wasn't the easiest of mornings, but I managed. Now it's 8pm and I'm ready for bed...

10 minute warm up on the elliptical; 30 minute treadmill run; 2 minutes walking to my car forgetting my watch was still running :)

I finally bought a new iPhone case for working out. I've been using my iPhone 4 case (which did not fit my iPhone 5), and it was beginning to fall apart. You can buy this band here...

While I was at work, I made some emergency purchases for cold and flu weather. I'm definitely fighting off a cold right now, so I think hand sanitizer is a wise choice. I refuse to get sick while marathon training...

Working out early in the morning means I get to come home from work and relax with dinner like a normal person. When I workout after work, sometimes I'm not eating till 8:30, so it was nice to eat dinner at a normal hour. Grilled chicken with lots of veggies...

Have a great hump day!

What's the longest you've ever gone on the StairMaster? Someone I follow on Instagram did an hour and a half or something awesome like that.

Are you doing anything special to prevent getting sick?
