The Blizzard That Wasn't & Treadmill Runs Feel Tougher Than Running Outside

I am a-ok with the blizzard that wasn't! If you haven't heard, the blizzard of 2015 turned into an "oops" for the tri-state area. There were definitely areas that were slammed, so I'm hoping you're all doing okay, but NYC and NJ are doing just fine.

On Tuesday, I woke up to this. Messy, but no blizzard...

And then the sun came out and all was right with the world...

The only exercise I had planned for Tuesday was cleaning the snow off my car, but apparently I have some really awesome neighbors because my car had no snow on it whatsoever....

On Wednesday, I did my planned run of 3 miles on the gym treadmill. I'm having some issues on the treadmill as far as form goes. My heart rate was at 173 yesterday, and I was only running a 9:30 pace (1% incline) for most of my run (my HR is usually between 150 and 160 for 9:30 pace outside), so I think I'm overcompensating somewhere. I'm still trying to figure it out, but I shouldn't feel like I'm sprinting for 30 minutes when I'm doing an "easy" run. I'll have to experiment some more. Luckily there's a lot of winter left to get it right.

Afterwards, I went over to the rowing machine and rowed for 10 minutes. Sometimes you have to shake it up a little. I ended the workout with some weight training...

My friend was meeting me at the gym, but she couldn't arrive until 8:15, so I did a little shopping at TJ's and then went back to the gym for a second workout. I'm only a little obsessed with my gym. I kept it easy and we walked on an incline for 30 minutes...

For anyone who thinks you can't burn a few calories walking, 3.0 incline at a 3.5-4.0 pace for 30 minutes...

Do treadmill runs feel harder or easier than running outside?

What's something nice someone has done for you lately?
