Week Two Of Marathon Training In the Books & Some R&R

I woke up Saturday morning to this. Yup, I forgot to put the pot under the coffee maker. So that happened...

Long run Saturday was a success. My left leg is still not feeling 100%, but I find that once I'm 2-3 miles into my run, the pain/hip stiffness disappears. I feel like that's positive? Or maybe my body's just going numb. Either way, I finished my long run, so I'm not going to worry about it.

9 very chilly trail miles: 9:28, 9:37, 9:55, 9:30, 9:28, 9:32, 9:39, 9:48, 9:27

When I was done with my run, I ran by the grocery store and bough a large bag of ice. First ice bath of the marathon training cycle. My water in Columbus never got super cold, but my water here in NJ was ice bath worthy without the ice, so I had to catch my breath a few times when sitting in the tub with tea. It's only 21 degrees outside. No biggie...

I was rushing after my run, so lunch was a Quest Bar. Not the best decision after running for almost an hour and a half, but at least these bars have tons of protein...

I had my first deep tissue massage in a long while, and it was seriously needed. My technician kept asking if I roll/stretch/realize how tight my muscles are. Yes, yes I do. After my run, she recommended these mineral salts. I have epsom salts, but I figure more soaks can't hurt. We'll see how they work...

I went to see some friends and family last night, and dad I decided to go out to dinner. We definitely started the night off on the right foot...

And then I ate sweet potato encrusted grouper, and it was so delicious!

How far did you run this weekend?

Have you ever done a mineral bath soak? Effective?
