Attempting To Eat Healthy & The Creepiest Thing Ever

Happy Friday, friends! It's a rest day over here so I'm thinking of ways to occupy my time. Free style yoga? Knitting? Work all day and night? I'll figure something out.

I have a 12 mile run tomorrow that I'm super nervous about. I've never ran that long in a training run. The most I've ever done is 10 miles and then 13.1 in races. But just going out and running 12 miles is freaking me out a little. The good news is I should be able to do this run outside, so we'll see how it goes! Oh, and I also get to carb load today. Hooray!

Since my weekly milage is starting to creep up there, I took a rest day on Tuesday as well. I think from here on out 2 rest days/week will be the norm. On Wednesday, I ran 5 easy miles before work on the gym treadmill. I was not feeling this run, so I kept telling myself I just had to make it to 3 miles, then 4, then I figured I should just do the full 5 so I had an easier run on Thursday. Does anyone else talk to themselves during their entire workout? It can't just be me...

I'm attempting (key word) to eat a little healthier while still giving my body the extra food it needs for training. I found a new awesome Trader Joe's salad - tomato and mozzarella. The cheese adds some necessary fats but it's still healthy. I don't use dressings because I'm weird...

On Thursday morning, I had my last short run of the week. Thirty minutes on the treadmill before work. My training plan called for 3 miles, and since my easy runs are at a 9:30ish pace, I just run the full 30 minutes and call it a day...

I made a sweet potato the other night with chicken and veggies and then split it all up so I could repeat the same meal for lunch on Thursday. Dinner for lunch is a thing...

But then I was very confused on what I was supposed to eat for actual dinner so I found this new frozen dinner at Trader Joe's. I said "attempt" to be healthy. I didn't say I was full on succeeding...

And in weird/creepy/more weird/more creepy news, I saw this in the lobby of my apartment building yesterday morning. That is definitely a small animal claw, right? A bird? I have no idea, but I would really like to know how it got there...

How was your week of workouts?

Do you eat dinner foods for lunch or stick with soup/sandwiches/salads?
