Wednesday's Workout Week Check-In

I'm a fan of alliteration. Happy hump day! I hope your week is treating you well.

Going back a little, I spent Sunday night doing this which made waking up super early Monday morning more than challenging. Sleep is a priority 97% of the time, but I never miss the Oscars. Now I need to spend the next year getting caught up on all the movies I did not see (most of them)...

Week 8 of Marathon training is moving along nicely. I just realized as I typed that sentence that I am just about halfway through training. 8 more weeks (and 3 days) to go! On Monday, I went to the gym dark and early for a Spin workout...

I made an emergency #runnerproblems purchase this week. I will not show you the current condition of my heels, but just trust me that they're not doing so well between all the running and the winter weather. Everyone says running is an inexpensive sport if you're not a running shoe addict like me, but I feel it's these little things that add up...

On Tuesday, I woke up and ran a 10K at the gym before work. It was a very similar speed workout to last week. A 9:40 warm up mile, then .25 speedy miles and .25 recovery miles. My sprints were done at 8:57 (mile 2), 8:48 (mile 3), 8:41 (mile 4), 8:30 (mile 5). All recoveries were at a 9:13 pace. I felt strong throughout the entire run which tells me I can ramp up the speed next week :)

I forgot my watch at home. When I'm at the gym, the only thing my watch tells me is my heart rate, so I wasn't too upset about it...

The news keeps telling me it's going to warm up...eventually. I think today may even be a balmy 37 degrees. And good, because I can't deal with this nonsense anymore...

Stay warm, friends! And get those workouts in. It makes everything better.

What things do you buy to help with running problems? I have tons of lotions and bath salts for sore muscles.

Are you working out despite the cold temps or hibernating?
