I PR'd My Half Marathon (Again!), The Most Exciting News & Marathon Training: Week 12 Recap

Happy Sunday, friends! Sundays are my days to sleep in because I don't workout and usually don't have much planned, but today I woke up at 6:59 am for no reason whatsoever. I'm thinking it's going to be a "drink coffee all day long" kind of day.

It's officially four weeks till race day! Yesterday I went to my favorite park and ran 16 miles. I didn't start feeling good until about mile 3. My legs sometimes take a long time to warm up, but once I got there, it was smooth sailing till the end. I actually PR'd my half marathon time again - by 1 minute and 9 seconds! After chatting yesterday about how I am feeling my training right now, I really needed that positive run. I slowed by pace down a tad after hitting the 13.1 mark to ensure I finished 16 miles strong.

My legs are a tad tight today, but I'm feeling pretty good about next week's 20 miler. I'm sure I won't be able to think about anything else all week long. This coming week is my highest milage week of the training cycle (40 miles!), so I'm going to be foam rolling/sleeping/drinking water repeating.

I was so happy to be running a snow/ice free trail, but I still had to wear my running tights for hopefully the last time this season. Winter just won't leave, and it was only 32 degrees when I started my run...

Week 12 recap:

Sunday: Rest; Monday: Spin - 53 minutes; Tuesday: 7 outdoor (hilly) miles; Wednesday: 6 medium effort treadmill miles; Thursday: 6 easy effort treadmill miles; Friday: Rest; Saturday: 16 outdoor miles.

Weekly total: 35 miles

After my run, I enjoyed some sodium-filled soup. I sweat a lot on this run, and I was cold, so soup was perfect...

Foam rolling is when I multi-task. I'll either check out all the world happenings on my phone or play with Stella...

After lounging for a while, I went down to visit my friends and family. My parents were having a get together for some friends since everyone was hibernating all winter, and I got to eat all the yummy food...

The Bestie's birthday is on Tuesday, so I went over to her family's house to celebrate with cake. Apparently I just house hop until I'm full...

And since it's not a secret, I thought I should mention the most exciting part of my life - THE BESTIE IS HAVING A BABY! In 10 WEEKS! Yes, she's 30 weeks along (and the cutest pregnant person ever), and we're all so excited to meet the little man! He and I were just having a little chat last night...

Tell me all about your workouts this weekend!

Do you know someone who's pregnant?
