Throwback Thursday Since I Forgot To Blog All Week & Stepping Up My Shoe Game

My Tuesday post became a Thursday post, so there are lots of workouts coming your way...

Rewind all the way back to Monday. I did 53 minutes on the Spin bike. My legs have been surprisingly a-ok since my long run last Saturday. I thought since I pushed the pace a little, I would be suffering this week, but I seem to be recovering just fine. I discovered that a rest day, then a Spin day is exactly what works for me to feel my best again after a long run...

I'm super excited for my Spin workout next week because these beauties finally arrived in the mail! I've been spinning for 3 years and just now decided to buy Spin shoes. The clips come separately, so as long as those arrive by Monday, I'll be all set to step up my spinning game...

Just a quick FYI: Spin shoes run in weird sizes and the sizes aren't consistent for all brands, so I went to an actual store to be fitted. I tried these on at the store in a size below my size and they just about fit, so I knew the next size up would be perfect and bought them online. I would be careful buying online if you don't know your size for the brand you want...

On Tuesday, I ran 7 miles (medium effort) on the treadmill. I didn't push the pace too much because I wanted to see how my legs would react to running again...

On Wednesday, I was a little more aggressive and ran closer to race pace. I always walk for 30 seconds-one minute after a run, so my pace is a little skewed. The first mile was a warm-up (9:32), and then miles 2-3 (9:13), 4-5 (9:05), 6-6.5 (8:57).

I wore my new Waveriders for the first time during Wednesday's run. I'm not sure if I'll be wearing them for Saturday's 18 miler or not, but they felt great yesterday. My Marathon day shoes have had their first workout :)

And in delicious news, the Bestie is in town this week, so we've been doing what we do best: consuming lots of sugar...
