I'm Feeling 26 & Starting The Carb Loading Early

I'm officially 26! I'm not sure what life events happen at 26, but I'm excited to find out. Having a birthday on a Monday means you get a full weekend of celebrating. On Sunday, I enjoyed my rest day by celebrating with my family and our oldest family friends. I share a birthday with the awesome guy at the head of the table, so it was fun to celebrate together...

Our delicious BBQ feast...

It was a very rainy Monday morning, so I took myself to the gym for a birthday workout. 55 minutes of Spin followed by some weights at home...

One of my trusty running bloggers swears by eating one banana every day the week leading up to a race. I usually eat half a banana per day, so I'm adding in the other half for some extra potassium to prevent leg cramping on race day...

The Bestie came down from NYC to spend the afternoon with me. We ate lunch at a place I'd been wanting to try with the awesome name, D'Jeet.

You would think I'd be tired of Macaroons after eating 20 per day in Paris last Fall, but nope! We split a few for dessert...

I have 10 miles spread out over the next three days (4, 3, 3) and then it's on to race day! The nerves haven't hit yet. Just pure excitement. Oh and I must not forget to shout out to all the Boston Marathon runners today! To run Boston is the dream. A huge congratulations to you all!

Best thing you ate in the past few days? Everything, but macaroons just make me so happy.

Do you have any food rituals leading up to a race? I really don't, so this will be a big learning experience for me.
