Progress On The Treadmill & The Bestie's Birthday!

It's April! I love love love the month of April. It's my birthday month, so I'm sure that has something to do with it, but I feel like spring has sprung once April arrives. Even if it is currently 36 degrees outside.

Rewind to Spin-day Monday. Yes, the same workout happens week after week. My goal is always 20 miles, and that usually happens around the 52-53 minute mark, hence the weird stop time. I look at Spin Mondays as a chance to get my legs working again after a long workout on Saturday. Once my race has past, I'm going to start taking the 6am class. It will be nice to let someone else plan the workout for a change.


On Tuesday morning, I ran 8 miles on the treadmill. Besides for a 9 mile workout that I struggled through a while back, this is the longest I've ever successfully ran on the treadmill. My legs took a while to warm up (almost 3 miles), but once they did, I was able to increase the speed every 1.5 miles or so. This was not quite a tempo run, but close. Last mile was done in 8:57. 


And more importantly, Tuesday was the Bestie's birthday! We've now celebrated 12 birthdays together, which is pretty awesome. I met her, the hubby (still weird to say), and her brother for dinner near her apartment after work...


If salmon is on the menu, I will order it.


Afterwards, we went back to her apartment for cake. Didn't the guys do such a good job decorating?! I was so proud.
