Running On Heavy Legs & Race Outfit Decisions

I am quickly learning why most marathon training plans are only 16-ish weeks long. I am exhausted! But that's how I am supposed to feel, and I plan to get LOTS of rest next week to make up for all those early wake up times.

Rewind to Sunday for a #ThisIsWhyIRun moment: It was a beautiful day, and I had my first Rita's of the season. It's officially Spring...

I also bought what I think will be my race day top and sports bra. I didn't realize how much thought would go into an outfit, but I really want to wear something that feels 100% me on race day. Purple for the win. I'll be testing these out on Saturday...

I've been trying this "eat healthy" thing and it's going pretty well. There was a time not so long ago when all I did was eat healthy - almost too healthy - but I've slipped into some bad habits (I'm talking to you daily dove dark chocolate fix), so I'm trying to get back on track while still eating enough calories to fuel my run/taper.

Grilled chicken, baby sweet potatoes, veggies and a little leftover Greek salad from the grocery store...

On Monday, I did a Spin workout and forgot my watch. I've been doing this sweating thing long enough to know the effort I'm putting in, but I still felt very naked without it. I guess it's good to do workouts off of feel once in a while...

On Tuesday, I ran 6 treadmill miles and they were hard! My legs are ridiculously heavy right now. Again, everyone on the planet keeps telling me this is normal, so I'm just going to roll with it...

Who is tapering? How do you feel?

Do you plan race day outfits or do you just throw running clothes on the morning of the race?
