Memorial Day Weekend BBQs & Workouts

Happy unofficial start of summer! I honestly can't believe it's already Memorial Day weekend. For as long as winter felt, I don't really remember Spring. And now it's sorta summer. MDW brings A LOT of people from Northern NJ, NY and Pennsylvania to my area, so this was my view on Friday afternoon... 


Rewind to Friday morning when I did my own Spin workout (still no class yet :)). Afterwards, I did some strength training... 


I finally made it to my hometown later in the day and stopped in to see this handsome little guy...


Friday night dinner. I don't eat red meat on my own, so every time I see my parents, they make me eat steak. It's a pretty nice deal if you ask me...


It was finally a BEAUTIFUL Saturday for a run. The past few Saturdays have been rainy/foggy/gross, but yesterday was perfect! I ran 8 miles in an awesome (for me) pace. I made a major rookie error and didn't bring any fuel with me (only smart water). Even gatorade would have helped as I really started to feel dehydrated around mile 6. My right side cramped up which didn't even happen during my marathon. If I'm running over 1 hour, I must bring fuel - especially during the summer when it's hot outside and I may have indulged in a beverage or two the night before... 


On Saturday night, I bopped around to a few BBQs. There is nothing better than BBQ food...
