A 5K Re-cap & Back To Spinning Class!

And it's Monday again. The weekends really fly by, don't they? On Saturday, I raced for the first time since my marathon. I ran the Kevin A Brue Father's Day 5K in my hometown of Pt Pleasant. The race supports Melanoma research - something near and dear to my heart.  It was a fantastic small town race. There were only about 500 people racing, but everything was super organized and easy to navigate. I hope to do this race again next year.

My mom raced too! She finished the entire race in an awesome walking time!

The Bestie's husband and little brother raced with me too. Well, we started together - they finished sooner :)

This was a great race to figure out where I'm at with my speed and training. I ran my little heart out and finished just under 27 minutes - a tad faster than my goal. I even finished 5th in my age group (20-29), but like I said, it was a super small race :) My body feels recovered from my Marathon and ready to start training again. Speed work, here I come!

After the race, we all went to brunch. My favorite post-race tradition...

Later on Saturday, I hung with my favorite little dude. He's becoming so expressive!

On Sunday morning, I went back to a Spin class for the first time in a long time, and loved every second of it. I took the hour class, and it was a hard workout! I plan to take this class every Sunday I am able going forward as it's the perfect way to start a week...

And I posted this yesterday to social media, but a big HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my dad! He's just the greatest...

Have a great week, everyone!

How did your running go this weekend?

Favorite post race meal? Pancakes if I had a long run.
