Tip Of The Week & A Very Happy Aunt

It's back to work Monday, and I'm still mourning last night's Game of Thrones finale, so I have a feeling it's going to be a rough start to the week. The weekend was great, though.

On Saturday morning, I went for a run at the park. I'm going to start sounding like a broken record, but I reaaaaaalllllyyyy need to get out earlier if I'm going to have a successful non-treadmill run this summer. My goal was 7 miles, but I stopped after 5. It was VERY warm outside...

Those 5 miles were solid though, and I broke in my new Waverider18's. I didn't realize how much I needed to change up my shoes until I started running in my new pair. My legs felt so much better during this run than they had the past few runs I've had. Tip of the week: Pay attention to your body. It will let you know when things need to change.

I bopped around on Saturday and hung out with my mom for a portion of the day. We went to my spot for a dinner of appetizers. We ordered the clams oregano (so good!), pu pu platter and hummus. Yum. 

On Sunday morning, I went to the gym for a Spin workout followed by some weights/jump roping. 53 mins on bike/15 mins in weigh room...

After the gym, I went home and made some oatmeal goodness for breakfast. I added a tablespoon of peanut butter to my usual banana/blueberries/flaxseeds/chia seeds creation, and it really took it to the next level. It's the little things... 

Later on Sunday, I went and saw the little man. He's 4 weeks old now! Where did the time go?! I caught this awesome moment of him blowing kisses with his mama. At least that's what I'm telling everyone he was doing :)

And then he took a nap and I was a very happy Aunt. PS, that's a burp cloth around my neck so I didn't get sunscreen on B. I think I'm starting a new fashion trend...

Without talking spoilers, who is really sad today after last night's Game of Thrones episode? 

What was your best workout this weekend? My cross training workout on Sunday was much more successful than Saturday's run. It happens.
